Greetings For Happy Diwali With Messages Quotes In Hindi English

Greetings For Happy Diwali With Messages Quotes In Hindi English- The word Diwali has been derived from Deepavali which in turn is formed by deepa (lamp) + avali (row). Deepavali is thus a line or a row of lamps. During Diwali, lamps are lit everywhere. It is celebrated on four consecutive days – the thirteenth (Dhanatrayodashi), the fourteenth (Narak Chaturdashī) and the new moon day (Amāvasyā Lakshmīpūjān) of the dark fortnight of Āshwin and the first day of the bright fortnight of Kārtik (Balipratipadā). Some exclude the thirteenth and consider only the remaining three days as Diwali. Since Vasubaras and Bhaubijrespectively precede and follow Diwali, they are included in it. However in reality they are separate Holy festivals. Greetings For Happy Diwali With Messages Quotes In Hindi English . The elephant-headed God, to thesymbol of auspiciousness and wisdom, is also worshiped in most Hindu homes on this day. In Janisim, Deepawali has an added significance to the great event of Lord Mahavira attaining the eternal bliss of nirvana. Diwali also commemorates the return of Lord Rama along with Sita and Lakshman from his fourteen year long exile and vanquishing the demon-king Ravana. In joyous celebration of the return of their king, the people of Ayodhya, the Capital of Rama, illuminated the kingdom with earthen diyas (oil lamps) and burst crackers.

According to Shrīmadbhagwadgitā Puran on this day Shrīkrushṇa slayed Narkasur. A powerful demon called Bhoumasur or Narkasurformerly ruled a place named Pragjyotishpur. He began harassing both Deities and people. He kept sixteen thousand princesses of marriageable age whom he had won in battles, in prison and planned to marry them. He created chaos everywhere. When Shrikrushna heard this, along with Satyabhama, He attacked the demon, slayed him and set the princesses free. The dying Narkasurasked Shrikrushna for a boon, “On this date (tithi) let one who takes an auspicious bath not suffer in hell”. Shrikrushnagranted him that boon. Consequently, the fourteenth (Chaturdashi) day of the dark fortnight of Ashwin also came to be known as Narak Chaturdashi and on that day people started bathing before sunrise. On this day when Shrikrushna returned home at dawn, after slayingNarkasur, adorning a spot (tilak) of Narkasur’s blood on His forehead, Nanda gave Him an auspicious bath. The women expressed their joy by moving lit lamps about His face (ovalani).’

According to the Ayurveda it is the birthday of the Deity Dhanvantari, so on this day Āyurvēdic doctors (vaidyas) worship Him. They share an offering (Prasād) of small pieces of neem leaves and sugar to visitors. This is of great significance as the neem fruit has originated from Divine Nectar (Amrut) and Dhanvantari is the Deity who bestows immortality. If one chews five to six neem leaves everyday then there is no chance of suffering from any malady. Such is its importance. It is for this very reason that it is distributed as a sacrament (prasad) of DeityDhanvantari.
